Summary

Our client is looking for an experienced Waste and Minerals Planner to join their Waste Management Team. Waste Management is a growth area within the Environment business stream and the addition of such a specialist will enable the team to expand their activities. Candidates may choose to be based in either their London or Hampshire offices.

Job description:

The role will focus on key stages of the development process, namely policy background at strategic and local levels and the development of proposals for specific site(s).

The ideal candidate will be expected to take the lead or be involved in:

· Preparation and review of local development documents
· Site identification and assessment
· Representations to local planning authorities on policy and site specific matters
· Preparation and review of planning applications and environmental assessments
· Public inquiries
· Business development activitiesCandidate specification

Candidates must have in-depth experience of minerals and waste planning gained with a local planning authority, waste contractor or consultancy practice. Although membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute would be an advantage, proven ability is the main requisite. Candidates must also be able to show that they are detail conscious and have a competent manner when dealing with clients and other interested parties.

This is a new position and although the person selected must be a team player it will provide him/her with the opportunity to develop this area of expertise within the business stream.
