Hydro Project Engineer

Summary

Our client Requires candidates for a Hydro Project Engineer vacancy in Russia.

Job Description:

· Technical and project management input on hydro power projects

· Liaise with clients and subconsultants

· Advise and undertake research on matters relating to standards, statutory obligations and other relevant systems & procedures

· Activities aimed at winning projects (preparation of competitive proposals/bids) in collaboration with the Moscow Rep Office and the Energy Unit in UK.

· Attend presentations, meetings and client briefings throughout the bidding process.

· Visit construction sites & suppliers to monitor progress & quality as necessary

· Report to a visiting Director.

· Add value to the procurement process: interview and select prospective sub contractors.

· Maximise profitability and ensure project is completed to programme and to the expected quality standards.

· Ensure all works are carried out safely in accordance with statutory regulation and Company Health, Safety and Quality Assurance procedures.

· Actual work on Russian projects in collaboration with the Moscow Rep Office and the Energy Unit in UK (in the shorter term – work as part of UK-led teams).

· Ensure good communication between team members and the client and his representatives: attend/chair regular project review meetings.

· Provide regular written progress reports in line with the company’s reporting procedures.

· The development of the local hydro/energy/power team.

Candidate specification:

· Working for a local organisation with extensive postgraduate experience.

· Having experience of running at least one project.

· Having a strong technical knowledge of the hydro/energy/power sector.

· Knowledge of energy sector development trends and restructuring process in Russia.

· Possessing well-developed contacts with energy sector companies/clients (RAO UES, generation companies, etc).

· Experience of energy project work / experience in project management.

· Background: hydro/energy/power engineer (power stations).

· Good knowledge of Russian legislation / standards / norms applied in the sector.

· Good knowledge of English language.

· Ability to write reports (in English/Russian languages)
