Our client is seeking an Environmental CAD/GIS Technician to join their office in Munster.
Job description:
The Environmental CAD/GIS technician will provide drafting support for various projects from concept to as built construction layouts. Typical projects include preparation of preliminary reports/feasibility studies, detailed design of drainage networks and contract administration. Tasks assigned to the position may include:
- Small scale on site surveying and verification.
- Preliminary design concept sketches
- Drafting of gravity sewers, rising mains, water mains, pumping stations, unit treatment processes, combined sewer overflows, flood defences, surface water channels and other associated elements of environmental infrastructural projects.
- Survey drawings, site layout drawings, general arrangement drawings, longitudinal sections, miscellaneous civil details, presentation drawings for submissions or project meetings.
- Using GIS as support for mapping/design in various environmental projects.
Duties include carrying out all tasks in accordance with the Company’s quality assurance system.
The role also includes participating in the Company’s training programme as a participant and also in providing training to others under his/her charge.
Candidate specification:
Candidates should have a third level cert/diploma an Engineering discipline and a recognised qualification in AutoCAD. Experience in GIS is desirable but not essential.
Candidates should have a minimum two years experience in the drafting of Civil infrastructural projects such as water and drainage networks, water and wastewater treatment, flood relief schemes. Drafting experience of a number of project elements is desirable such as background mapping, general arrangements and layouts. planning applications, longitudinal sections, pump stations, wayleaves.
