The applicant will join the Performance and Analysis team as a safety analyst performing transient analysis of faults and operational transients in Pressurised Water Reactors.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform transient analysis of nuclear reactor systems using computer models (mainly FORTRAN), to support safety case development and safe, reliable and efficient operation. Produce high quality documentation to report and interpret the results. Interface with clients to produce deliverables that fully satisfy their requirements.
Essential Qualifications:
First degree in physics, mathematics or engineering.
Experience Required:
Analysis of water reactor systems, in particular under faulted conditions, using advanced thermal-hydraulic computer models on UNIX/Linux platforms. Production of high quality technical documentation to strict QA standards. Appreciation of the principles of civil nuclear safety cases. Experience of teamwork. Knowledge of code development, validation and verification would be an advantage.
