Project Engineer

Summary

Project Engineer providing support to Project managers within our clients company.
Project management of a Procurement Process. The PE will work under the Project Team Manager. The PE will be responsible for the procurement of mechanical hardware (valves, pumps, pipe work, etc.) in support of current class submarines and new build submarines. The process involves a number of personnel with which continuous communication is essential. The PE receives a request for hardware from the Client Facing Business Unit (CFBU). The PE then ensures that design engineers, buyers and other procurement professionals process the request to through the process to delivering the piece of hardware to the ultimate client. The process is managed through SAP.

Key Responsibilities:

Project management of procurement process. Monitoring and reporting of items within a process. Planning of individual tasks and resource. Control of task costs. Interface with SAP.

None

Desirable Qualifications:

Member of the Association for Project Management. Member of the IMechE or similar. Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or similar; or equivalent industry experience.

Experience Required:

Project Engineer with experience in of all aspects of project management. Good communication skills are essential. Defence industry knowledge working with various clients. Knowledge of a RN NSRP would be beneficial as would prior experience of SAP.
