Summary

The Operations and Maintenance Suport Team is a multi-disciplinary team providing a range of services to help stations achieve optimum performance and lifetime from physical assets without compromising safety or environmental regulations. Opportunities exist for an Electrical Engineer to contribute flexibly to the provision of these services and to assist in the development of the team.

Key responsibilities of the post:

Performance of System Health and System Safety Reviews for a wide range Electrical equipment. Provision of support to BE stations in the analysis and resolution of operational problems. This includes the preparation of safety submissions, outage support, and the authoring or verification of plant modifications. Review and development of preventive and predictive maintenance requirements for selected systems. Production of System Lifetime Plans for AGR Systems

Essential Qualifications:


Applicants should ideally be qualified to a minimum standard of HNC/HND (having achieved or be working towards I Eng) or degree level (having achieved or be working towards Chartered status) in a relevant discipline (engineering, physics, mathematics or similar technical discipline) or hold an appropriate equivalent professional qualification.

Desirable Qualifications:

Previous work for company clients desirable. AV2 author/verifier (client qualification)

Experience Required:

Proven engineering experience and a track record of delivering results within an Engineering and Equipment Reliability function. A high level of station contact is required, including short periodic visits to power station sites. Due to the diverse nature of the station systems covered applicants are required to be flexible and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to combine practical considerations with a good understanding of underlying theory, in order to develop the most practicable and economic solution to a particular plant problem or issue. Experience of any of the following would be an advantage: Station operations or station maintenance practice including use of condition monitoring techniques. The production of engineering changes and knowledge of the industry's regulatory requirements. Management of ageing and obsolescence. System Health processes or the INPO-AP-913 Equipment Reliability Processes Passport Release 9: Work Management, Engineering Change and Action Tracking Modules Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Facilitation/Analysis

Experience in any of the following plant areas:
• Essential Electrical Supplies
• Station Electrical Services
• Emergency Generation
• Cabling
• Battery Systems
• Grid Connections
