A hands on Mechanical Fitter with experience in the installation, and maintenance of mechanical plant, rotating equipment, fabrication work, pipework, pressure testing and basic welding.
Ability to speak English and converse with workmen.
Experience in Health and Safety, and ensure work teams work safely.
Ability to understand drawings, method statements, task statements and instructions from Engineers,
Ability to set to work small multiple teams on a variety of tasks.
Supervision of these teams, ensuring materials, tools and equipment pertinent to the work are available.
To operate under the Safe System of Work, as required.
Assist as necessary to compile any test documents, timesheets, weekly reports etc.
Authorised To:
Set to work and supervise company mechanical installation teams.
Carry out pipework pressure testing and assist in other commissioning works.
Responsibilities:
To supervise all permanent mechanical installations by company teams.
To assist in preparing task statements and risk assessments for installation teams, and to ensure validity of method statements and risk assessments.
To ensure work parties know and understand the safety requirements of the work in hand.
To deliver tool box talks as required.
To assist in and ensure the application of the Safe System of Work for testing, energising and commissioning is adhered to.
Education/Qualification Requirements:
Ten years experience in mechanical fabrication and installations.
Recognised apprenticeship.
H&S certification.
Experience in operating under a Safe System of Work.
